Innovation achievement in the sciences for more than 100 years
It might surprise you that Flagstaff, Arizona — a scenic university town long known as the gateway to Grand Canyon — has a history of innovation achievement that spans more than 100 years. Here, scientists have made remarkable achievements in the areas of astronomy, astrogeology, and today’s modern science of genomics. It’s where scientists discovered Pluto, explored Mars and the Moon, and made inroads to pathogen genomics and other bioscience breakthroughs.
Today, we enjoy a strong employment base in the medical device industry as well as a growing R&D base in the biosciences, thanks to Northern Arizona University and collaborators like TGen North, established companies like W.L. Gore and Machine Solutions, and emerging stars like SenesTech.
Our technology infrastructure continues to develop with the help of our new Science & Innovation Park and business incubator, the Northern Arizona Center for Emerging Technologies (NACET).
