Arizona Job Training Program

The Arizona Job Training Program (AJTP) is coordinated through the Arizona Department of Commerce (ADOC) and provides funds for Arizona businesses to design and implement customized training programs that meet their specific needs. The purpose of the AJTP is to assist in the creation of new jobs and to help increase the skill and wage level of employees in Arizona.

Enterprise Zone

The primary goal of the Arizona enterprise zone program is to improve the economies of areas in the state with high poverty or unemployment rates. The program does this by enhancing opportunities for private investment in certain areas that are called enterprise zones. Enterprise zones are designated by the Arizona Department of Commerce, and there are currently two in our community, one for Coconino County and one for the City of Flagstaff.

Under the Enterprise Zone program certain types of businesses located in the zone may qualify for an income and premium tax credit for net increases in qualified employment positions of up to $3,000 per employee over 3 years. In addition, certain manufacturers may qualify for a reduction in their property taxes if they are making fixed asset investments in their business.
